Letter From Ipanema
Here in Seward snow covors the top half of the mountains, and is creeping its way down Mount Marathon day by day. That 'means' snow anytime. Today the sun is shining bright, the sky is clear and it is really a magnificent day! Wish you could see it. Things are copacetic with John. He left today for Cordova to go on a dive, so I'm going to be hanging here a few days by meeself. Not much planned...movies and afternoon walks. Then on Saturday morning the boss' wife (John's boss, as I am officially unemployed...not for long hopefully) is picking me up to ride to Cordova for the weekend. Actually we are driving to Whittier and taking the ferry to Cordova. I've never been to either spot, and the ferry ride is 10 hours! Wild, man. I'm pretty stoked! Today I got an email from Ipanema! How kewl is that?!? Mark, a friend I made this summer in Seward, is in Rio (Ipanema Beach), en route to Brazil. How amazing are his pictures going to be next year? Solid guy, that Mark Lyons!
