Man Beaten To Death In Montrose-Area Home

An early morning homicide claimed the life of a man who was attacked in his own apartment in the 1400 block of Indiana in southwest Houston.
Police say a 36-year-old man was beaten to death in his Montrose-area home.
He was later found by his roommate. It's unknown if a weapon was used to beat the victim. So far, police say there are no witnesses to the crime.

At 7am this morning, my phone started ringing. It was Kenny.
It rang, and rang, and rang, and rang. I wanted to sleep, so I put it on silent and slept.
When I awoke I called him back and he said, 'Kim, I have some bad news to tell you. Are you sitting down?.
'Yes.'
'Skully is dead.'
Skully, for those of you who don't know is Chevy.
Upon return to her apartment, his roommate found him beaten to death on the living room floor. He was battered unrecognizable.
I went by the apartment this morning and talked to the detective. There was blood all over the floor. He asked me to come into his room. I stepped over the bloodied carpet and into Skully's room.
It was so surreal....and he didn't seem gone.
Perhaps I am in shock.
Everyone is worried about me. But I'm worried about his mother. She apparently doesn't even know.
I just saw him lastnight....within an hour, apparently of his murder.
And the night before, he pulled me aside and asked me how I was doing with the pregnancy.
He also told me he expects me to quit smoking.
And he was clearly concerned about me. Ever since we became friends only, he has been much more open with his feelings. And his respect for me.
I don't know what to think right now. I am very sad....mostly for his children and his mother.
All of the details surrounding the murder are scandelous and a little frightening. Some of the people he was associated with were dirty people.
I mean, Skully wasn't perfect, but no one deserves to die like that.
